FIVE QUESTIONS WITH... JAMES BECK ON BEHALF OF THE YOUNG GUNS OF COMEDY

Young Guns of Comedy is an amazing event showcasing the best up and coming talent on the comedy circuit. We caught up with James Beck to find out more...

1) What is your show about?

It’s basically a showcase of a few of the younger, up and coming comedians on the circuit. It also gives them a chance to do slightly longer sets than normal.

2) What has been the highlight of your comedy career thus far?

Personally, playing the Royal Exchange Theatre was pretty good fun! I’m sure the others will have their own ideas though.

3) Finish this sentence: "If you like comedy in the afternoon or to see a few very good, up and coming comics before they get famous for very little cost, then you'll like my show"

4) What will you do in the hour before your show?

Probably get really, really nervous, forget my whole act, panic, worry that nobody will turn up, panic, remember my act, panic that it’s not funny enough…repeat.

5) Name 3 other comics you would recommend seeing.

I’m obliged to plug Tony Basnett and Khan Johnson (they’re mates, very funny mates) but personally I’m very much looking forward to seeing Stewart Lee!

The Young Guns of Comedy is on at Apotheca on the 23rd & 30th October. Click here for more information and to buy tickets.
