FIVE QUESTIONS WITH... SUSAN MURRAY

We caught up with the critically acclaimed Susan Murray to ask her five questions about her debut solo show, The Glottal Stops Here...

1) What is your show about?

Accents. I’m obsessed as I have the crappest one- Black Country. There’s also bits of my life in there, to keep it spicy.

2) What has been the highlight of your comedy career thus far?

Getting the word “Tw*t” printed it the Independent in the form of one of the top Edinburgh Festival gags. Some people spend thousands trying to find their “inner child”. I’m still trying to find my outer adult.

3) Finish this sentence: "If you like laughing your tits off, then you'll like my show"

4) What will you do in the hour before your show?

Well apart from travelling to the gig (I’m in Hartlepool the night before. Talk about suffering for your art!) I’ll be sorting out all the technical stuff and press ganging some random passing stranger to do a couple of lighting cues for me. I pay in beer. Then, I’ll be trying to re-cram all the jokes back into my brain as some of them will have dribbled out since August.

5) Name 3 other comics you would recommend seeing.

Jimeoin , Kevin Gildea, Alex Boardman at the festival- otherwise Wanda Sykes (USA), Greg Davis, Kevin Eldon (whenever you can)

The Glottal Stops Here is on at Apotheca on the 31st October. Click here to buy tickets
